ACCESSIBILITY
The organisers of the International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity have established an accessibility committee to ensure that all aspects of the conference are accessible to all delegates. We will endeavour to plan to ensure maximum accessibility for all needs but also encourage delegates to let us know their individual requirements so that we can meet them.
Areas of accessibility to be audited include:
-
Conference venue: MTU’s Kerry campus is fully accessible, catering for all levels of mobility.
Student volunteers are on hand to assist delegates if required. -
Conference presenters: Guidelines will be provided to presenters on how to ensure accessibility of their oral, audio-visual or poster presentations. Interpreters will be provided to meet the needs of delegates..
-
Media: All media will be developed in accordance with good practice for accessibility. This will include social media, websites, abstracts and other media during the conference.
-
Accommodation: Information on the range of accessibility for all accommodation providers will be provided. Providers have a range of accessible rooms to meet a variety of needs.
-
Transport: Public transport in Ireland has good accessibility. More information on specific accessibility is available here. All private transport will be audited and information on accessible options will be available for delegates.
-
Food selection: All dietary requirements will be catered for during all snacks and meals provided as part of the conference.
-
Social activities: All venues and activities will be audited and information regarding the levels of accessibility will be provided to delegates. A range of equipment will be provided to maximise the accessibility of all activities.
